CattleDog Publishing was created in 1994 solely to publish The Small Animal Veterinary Nerdbook®. Since then, the company has published a second edition of the Veterinary Nerdbook® and has worked on a number of other unique projects.

About the mascots: CattleDog Publishing was named after Dr. Sophia Yin’s Australian cattle dogs, Zippin’ Zoe (the red one) and “The Kangaroodie Kid” (the blue one, “Roody” for short). The company logo is a depiction of Roody in cartoon form.
